We offer water taxi service . . .
to all points in Kachemak Bay State Park using large,
safe boats with enclosed cabins and U.S. Coast Guard licensed operators.
Our vessels have the capacity to keep everyone out of the elements in
enclosed cabins, and plenty of room to haul back packs, camping gear,
mountain bikes and kayaks. This is Homer so, of course, pets are welcome
too! Trips start at our office on the Homer Spit and depart from the small
boat harbor. We can drop you anywhere in the bay, at hiking trail heads,
camping spots, clamming beaches, and fishing areas like the Tutka Bay
Lagoon salmon hatchery, and of course at the place you should be going to
anyway, Otter Cove Resort.
Service is on demand,
we will pick you up at a prearranged location and time. We have single and
double kayaks available to rent as well as guided trips.
Round trip water taxi service to most
points in the bay is $65-$85 pp round trip, plus sales tax. For State Park
destinations add an additional State Park fee of $4 per person.
Water taxi service to Otter Cove is $65 pp round trip, plus sales tax.
Contact us for more information.
Our new water taxi, is a 28' Bayweld landing
craft, the Baylink II. The landing craft design allows us to get you on and
off the beach easier and enables us to haul larger loads like camping gear, 4-wheelers,
kayaks and
other freight.
Gull
Island /Kachemak Bay Cruise
Join us for a narrated cruise to the famous bird rookery at Gull Island.
This is a great way to see puffins, cormorants, kittiwakes and other
migratory seabirds while you learn about their diets, habits and
migratory patterns. Watch for sea otters and an occasional whale as you
cruise Kachemak Bay. In addition to Gull Island you will cruise to 60
foot rock and into Eldred Passage and Tutka Bay. The scenery is breath
taking.
You will cruise along on the Northern Star, a coast guard inspected
vessel, that is enclosed to keep you warm and cozy while providing you a
great view through large windows. There is also an opportunity to go
outside while at Gull Island so that you can take pictures and see the
birds up close. A light snack and bottled water are provided. Boat
departs at 1 p.m. and returns by 3:30 p.m. $80 for adults and $30 for
children under 12 years old. Family and large group prices available.
